Hostel

We have separate hostel for boys and girls. They are also permitted to use their own computers in their own rooms. The mess is spacious with a dining hall and kitchen. Separate seating arrangements are made for both boys and girls.

RULES & REGULATION :

  • Students must occupy the rooms allotted to them by the Warden (Principal).
  • Students should refrain from anti-social and undesirable activities such as consumption of alcohol, tobacco, gambling, ragging etc.
  • Students are responsible for the cleanliness of their rooms.
  • No student will be allowed to leave the hostel based on a phone call.
  • Parents are requested to give a list of authorized visitors/local guardians. Visitors not mentioned in the list will not be permitted to visit the students in the hostel.
  • Students will be permitted to go home only if the college is closed continuously for five days or more.
  • Any student wishing to attend a function in the house, marriage or any other ceremony will be permitted to go only if the request is made by the parents to the Principal.
  • Visitors are allowed on holidays from 11.00 A.M. to 6.00 P.M.
  • Library

    The library has a collection of meticulously chosen 4,000 books on different subjects of Pharmacy and Applied Science and Humanities. 30 journals of national and international repute, periodicals, magazines and newspapers are subscribed in the library in the periodical section. The special feature of library is DELNET through which it is connected to 743 Indian as well as foreign libraries. It is also equipped with reprographics facility

     

    Smart Class Rooms

    There are a number of lecture theaters in Mahatma Gandhi Engineering College. Smart Class Rooms provides an ideal setting for lecture, with ideal refreshment areas located adjacent to the Hall. The institute has large lecture theaters, adequate to accommodate 150 students in each, scientifically designed. Visibility, acoustics and sitting comfort have been specially taken care of. The audio-visual teaching aids like the public address system, overhead projectors, and 35 mm slide projectors and LCD projectors are also available in each lecture theater. Lecture Theaters have recently been refurbished including the installment of air-conditioning and the latest technical audio and visual equipment. All the classrooms are spaciously designed and are well furnished with necessary technical teaching aids like OHP, Slide projectors, LCD Projector, PA systems and other online information systems.

    Wi-Fi

    MGEC provides staff, faculty and students access to the wireless network on campus where available. The wireless network does not provide access to campus resources, only to Internet resources. MGEC provides free wireless access to the Internet at all two of the building and the central administration building MGEC also WiFi zones are available in all of the libraries and various public gathering places at the campuses. MGEC WiFi zones are currently available for use.

    Computer Lab

    While we at the College of Pharmacy's technology department do our best to ensure a safe and secure computing experience, it's also up to you to protect yourself and your data.

    Lab Rules
  • NO FOOD, DRINK, OR USE OF TOBACCO IN ANY FORM is allowed in the labs.
  • Telephones are NOT for personal use.
  • TURN OFF CELL PHONES! If you need to use it, please take it to the hallway.
  • Please operate the equipment with respect and care.
  • Activities in the lab(s) that are considered by the lab aides to be abusive to the software, hardware, and\or personnel may result in expulsion from the lab(s) and denial of future use of the lab(s).
  • Excessive use of paper and materials may require reimbursement to the lab. Paper being discarded should be placed in a recycle container.
  • The lab aides are here to help when they can and to maintain the labs' operation. However, the lab aides are not here to do your work for you. The lab aides will refer students to their instructors at the lab aides discretion.
  • Software may be installed by Computer Labs staff only. Do not install any software on your own. Files not put on by Computer Labs staff will be routinely removed.
  • Do not modify any software or files. Do not overwrite the operating system, modify the autoexec.bat or config.sys or any other system parameters.
  • For any hardware, software, printer, paper, or ink problems, please contact a aide.
  • College policy requires compliance with all U.S. copyright laws. Copying software without appropriate authorization violates these laws. Illegal use of materials in the labs is grounds for denial of use of the labs and confiscation of illegally used materials.
  • Any failure to follow these lab rules may result in the loss of your lab privileges.
  • Sports

    The College has a large play ground where all outdoor games are organised. The students of the Department of Physical Education use this ground for their regular activities. Intra College competitions (both indoor and outdoor) are regularly organized with the active assistance of Students’ union. A good number of college students also participate in Inter-College and Intra district Competitions.

    Playgrounds with well maintained courts for Volley Ball, Basket Ball, and cricket are available. Courts for indoor games like Shuttle and Table Tennis are also available. Qualified male and female physical directors are appointed to tap sport talents from budding student community.

    Transport Facility

    The College runs 52 buses for providing transport facility to students from various places in the city. The number of buses will be increased corresponding to the increase in the intake of students.
