Department of Pharmaceutics :

Department of Pharmaceutics The Institute has three undergraduate Pharmaceutics Laboratories namely Pharmaceutics LaboratoryI (Industrial Pharmacy Lab), Pharmaceutics Laboratory II and Pharmaceutics Laboratory III (Physical Pharmacy Lab) and Pharmaceutics Lab for M.Pharm. The Labs are well equipped with equipments, Glasswares and chemicals to carry out the necessary experimentation work as prescribed in the syllabus of B.Pharm. and M.Pharm.

Machine Room :

The machine room has a well built aura of machines generally encountered in Pharmaceutical Industry like 16 station Rotary Punching Machine, Pan Coater, Hand Operated Single Punch Machine, Dissolution Rate Test Apparatus (I.P Standard), Disintegration Rate Test Apparatus (U.S.P. standard), Silverson emulsifier, ROPP Cap Bottle Sealing Machine, Ampoule filling and sealing machine, Bottle filling machine, Mechanical and Gyratory Sieve Shaker, Filter Press, Reynolds Apparatus, Venturimeter and Orifice meter, Vacuum filter Unit, Friability Test Apparatus, Capsule filling machine, Mechanical Stirrer, Double and Cuboidal Cone Blender, Micropulverizer, Root crusher, Ointment filling machine, Ointment Crimping machine.

This room provides a window for young and aspiring pharmacist to be well versed with the current Pharmaceutical Scenario.

Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry :

Pharmaceutical Analysis Laboratory
• Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory
• Medicinal Chemistry Laboratory
Separate balance room is provided with each laboratory. These Laboratories help in acclimatizing the student with the chemistry aspect of the Pharmacy profession which helps them in their carrier as an analytical chemist, Research and Development and in Post graduate studies.

Department of Pharmacognosy :

It is equipped with instruments like Soxhlet Apparatus and Clavengers Apparatus for extraction and isolation of crude drugs, Microtome for cutting fine section of the drugs, Bio-Visual aids like - Permanent Slides, Compound and Dissecting Microscope, Medicinal plant charts, Visualizing wooden cabinets of crude drugs etc.

The Museum

The Institute possesses a large museum consisting of more than 100 crude drugs, herbarium sheets, botanical specimens & charts of the drugs & plants, coloured slides of medicinal plants, patent medicines & containers of common usage in medicines.

Department of Pharmacology :

The Pharmacology lab consists of equipments to identify the activity of various drug samples. These include Digital Actophotometer, Eddy's Hot plate, Histamine Chamber, Plethysmograph, Cook's Pole Climbing Apparatus, Convulsiometer, Pyrogen Telethermometer and Single and Double organ Bath with Kymograph to study the effect of drugs on animals. Moreover the college has started experiment conduction on simulated softwares.

A student becomes well versed with handling and experimentation on animals both in laboratory (manually) and on computers (simulated softwares ) once out of the laboratory.

Anatomy, Physiology and Pathophysiology Laboratory This laboratory consists of bones, human skeleton model, various charts and models of brain, ear, human digestive system etc, which once visually encountered will help a student to grasp the basics of the pharmaceutical profession.

Computer Lab :

The Institute encompasses a spacious computer lab with P-IV computers connected to 45 nodes. The lab is provided with 256 kbps dedicated lease line internet facility round the clock

Animal House :

Mahatma Gandhi College of Pharmaceutical Sciences maintains separate animal house. As per CPSEA guidelines our animal house can easily be termed as animal block for it comprises of rooms where the animals are housed in separate rooms for different experiments. We always have Rats and Mice of different strains, Guinea pigs and Rabits. There is also a tank where the frogs are housed.
